Sherry. I absolutely agree with your statement about this place, but looks aren’t everything. I have purchased a puppy from this breeder and He is the most gentle and best dog I have ever had. They really know what they’re doing when they breed their dogs.

I love Kathy. She is a great person, she may have a lot of dogs but they are taking care of and their dogs are so gentle, ive adopted alot of them and never ever had a problem with them.

I drive past this house everyday and am disgusted by the deplorable conditions these dogs are kept. They are outside year round no shelter from rain, snow how do kathy and husband sleep at night? These poor dogs recieve no heat and comfort. Id at least feel better if they had a roof over there so called “cages”. you make money off of these dogs why not fix up there living quarters to proper temperature control dog houses that block from wind, heat , snow, rain.

First off, Kathys dogs have shelter. Doyou not see the little white barrels? And that is not her husband. There pens are kept up to standard to laws, start at the laws if you do not like it. She is a wonderfull person. The dog have automatic waters and are fed daily multiple times.

This person does NOT care about her dogs! Right now there are PUPPIES outside freezing to death because her “little white barrels” are NOT adequate shelter. There are probably over 100 dogs and puppies “living” together in this shithole. “Minny Cruella” indeed! She needs to be shut down and charged with animal cruelty!!!

Right now there are puppies as young as 8 weeks old out in the frigid weather at this so called breeder’s house. The photos are all over facebook and the authorities are being contacted. This is a puppy mill and it is horrific that these dogs have no warmth from the frigid cold. We are getting a snowstorm and the temperatures will be near zero. How is a tiny puppy supposed to live in that weather. I hope she gets shut down and banned from breeding. What is wrong with the neighbors and authorities up there to allow this to go on. Puppy mills should be illegal. A good breeder has one or two good dogs and they breed only once a year. This is a puppy factory and dogs do not belong outside in the winter. It is cruel. There is no bedding or hay in the little white plastic covers. This is verified by eyewitnesses TODAY. I hope they are arrested for this. Disgusting.

Anyone who thinks plastic barrels are appropriate living conditions in this cold climate should not have dogs. Period!

I find it extremely suspicious that Eric Bellows has lived near these scumbags for years and is JUST now hearing dogs barking? I want these dogs out of their current situation but For everyone putting trust, faith, and most importantly MONEY, into Eric’s hands, you are doing no favor to these dogs. These dogs will be pulled by Eric, most likely bred, and then they will start disappearing without explanation. Trust that the only thing that Eric sees in this situation is dollar signs.

  20. Karen
    January 1, 2014 at 2:41 pm ·

WOW SERIOUSLY?!!!! accusing ERIC of all people of seeing dollar signs????!!! How ignorant are YOU?! The man that helps run this MILL is the one that is only seeing dollar signs!!! YOU must be a relative or something (and I do MEAN “something”) how anyone can defend leaving poor defenseless animals out in sub zero weather with only a PLASTIC barrel between them and the cold is absolutely INSANE! We are working with RESCUES right now to save these poor dogs….WHERE are you getting the MONEY from???? I’d like proof of you claims about Eric, we have plenty of PROOF of the conditions that the dogs are in.

  21. Missy
    January 1, 2014 at 2:44 pm ·

BTW…a true breeder does not have barrels for shelters, especially for puppies. A true breeder does not leave their dogs outside in the freezing cold either. They keep their breeding mothers/fathers inside and they are treated like family….these people are sick…and if you think that this is ok then you are sick as well…I do not care how great their dogs are or if they are nice people…they are NOT a true breeder and nor should these pups be living like this!!!!!!!!!!!! This is cruel!!

  22. Donttrustericb
    January 1, 2014 at 3:04 pm ·

Read my comment carefully Karen. Nobody is defending the breeders. But the fact of the matter is Eric himself is a breeder and has 50+ dogs on his property. He lives off donations, does not do home visits for adoptions, and his dogs are not up to date on medical when they are adopted. These are all FACTS & there is plenty of proof. The problem is that you and the rest of his FB army choose to bury your heads in the sand instead of looking at the reality of the situation. It has been only 1 day and instead of going through proper channels to have ALL of these dogs removed (if you have ever been part of shutting down a puppy mill you would know that it does not happen over night) he is asking for donations so he can buy the dogs….from a scumbag breeder. It’s instant gratification, it’s lazy, and it does NOTHING to solve the problem.

I’m not going to argue over facts and clearly the intelligence in this group is lacking. Good luck to you all and I pray that these dogs don’t end up in a worse situation because of Eric’s lack of patience and intelligence on how to do things the proper way so that ALL dogs are safe, not just the ones that are being bought. And if I were all of you, I would request to see proof of vaccinations and spay/neuters after these dogs enter Erics care.

In our city we just passed an ordinance to sell only rescue animals at pet shops. Since the conditions that breeders such as this one has for the animals is hurtful to the animals, I am celebrating our new law. Why doesn’t your state start taking ownership for the profit making business of puppy mills? Shame on you.

8 week old puppies being zapped at the electric fence when they saw Eric and the gang. Just sickening that they are outside in this weather to freeze. Wish NY had the same law as CT where it would be ILLEGAL to leave dogs outside in temperatures such as these. Please NY get with it! I will do all I can to spread the word about this breeder, I have seen the pictures and they are NOT pretty. This story makes me SICK and an FYI- I have yet to see one of Eric’s dogs bred with all he shares with us. unreal. THESE DOGS NEED OUT AND SOON!

This person should be shut down. No one with common sense, no reputable person, breeds litters and keeps them in substandard conditions. Seems like the almighty $$ is the only criteria here. This person’s reasons for breeding are questionable, the photos themselves are condemning. They need to be prosecuted, fined for cruelty, neglect and abuse. And as a so-called breeder, they need to be boycotted.

This whole thing makes me sick, I hope this lady gets shut down soon and someone takes her and her husband and puts them in a barrel and lets them sit outside In freezing temps. Lady you are not a breeder you are a puppy mill and you make me sick!! No one should ever let you breed dogs ever again. New York state needs to wake up to this stuff and do something about it before its to late for these dogs and many others. Makes me sick!!!

You should have to live the way your dogs do. I don’t care what their temperment is they should not have to live in such horrible conditions. They are probably so grateful to get away from you that is why they do so well in their new homes.

The real question is why can’t people stop breeding animals and get real jobs?? Why contribute to the serious problem of so many strays being euthanized or living their existence in kennels?? Obviously a breeder is not a wonderfully caring person if they are oblivious to their deeds..neither is the people who buy them

I think the lack of response by authorities may be due to the holiday. I would hope that by tomorrow, when they are all back at work, and read all your emails and hear the voicemails left by countless facebook people, that SOMEBODY, like the Humane Society, ASPCA, news media, newspapers, etc. WILL do something. The storm coming is supposed to dump 12-18″ of snow across NY state and there are already blizzard warnings for the areas closer to the coast. There is no way these dogs will survive – puppies especially – if 18″ of snow cover the area. Their makeshift dog shelters will be buried. Yes it seems people have known about this for a long time but it’s just like everywhere else. People don’t want to get involved and they just turn away. This is a puppy mill – a breeding factory to sell puppies to pet stores, etc. just like the Amish ones we have in PA. They should be outlawed. But I understand this woman has her kennel’s capacity “grandfathered” in after new laws were passed and therefore the cops won’t do anything. But “adequate shelter” should not mean that any dog should live in zero degree weather in snow and ice with no heat or warm bedding. This, is outright cruelty and should be prosecuted to the fullest. A true breeder owns a few good dogs and breeds once a year maybe and keeps a waiting list. They don’t have an acre of dogs in wired pens like this. Not to mention these are SMALL dogs – shelties, shih tzus, etc. Not snow dogs like huskies. Let the owners sleep in the barrels and put the dogs in the house.

  47. Margie Oliveira
    January 2, 2014 at 1:11 am ·

To anyone who thinks that it’s ok for these dogs to sleep in white barrels in this weather, please come to my house and I’ll set up white barrels in my backyard for you to sleep in. But no dogs allowed, they sleep in the house. Folks who disagree with the owners of this puppy mill we need to post, repost and repost some more every day to as many people as possible. Please share this info on any and all social media sites. We can put her out of business and fast.

Wow…. you really live up to your email name…you must be short and you are definitely cruel. I just saw a photo of how you keep your puppies and dogs in outside kennels in the freezing winter cold. I also read how many rescue groups are trying to save the dogs. You are not a reputable breeder…you are cruella de minny. Please do what is morally right and let the puppies and dogs be rescued!

This is NOT a responsible breeder – these poor animals are right now freezing in digusting plastic barrels – small dog huts – in the snow – no love being given to them at all. These people only care about the dollar bills their dogs can make for them – disgusting.
