I have raised quality Mini and Toy Australian Shepherds since 2001. In the past 11 years I have spent countless hours studying the breed and years developing what I think is the perfect Aussie. I didn’t just want a small size, but a conformationally correct dog that LOOKED LIKE AN AUSSIE! With not just looks, but flash too. Lots of copper and white is someting you’ll notice about my dogs as well. Nice quality dogs, many champion titles and lots of flash. What else could one ask for in a single dog? 100s of pages full of information. 100’s of videos of my dogs, my kennel, shows and helpful hints. Thanks for looking.
I’m looking for a toy red or blue Merle with blue eyes. I would prefer a red Merle. Does not have to be a baby puppy. Please let me know if you have one . Thank you Karen
Hi Lindsey,
I bought a Cooter puppy about five years ago. I am hoping to keep his son for my new stud, but he is TINY. He took after Cooter and is 11 inches and almost 12 pounds at 7 months. (His sire from Cooter is 14 1/2 inchs) I named him Tigger and he is a red tri with one blue eye and one brown eye with a sliver of blue in it.
So….my question is? Can the little ones service 16 to 18 inch females. I let him try on an 18 inch female at 7 months and he looked like he was going to succeed. (I stopped him so I could breed her to my mature male)
Also….if they do breed the larger females, what happens with a basically stable large gene pool from the female and a consistently small gene pool from the smaller male?
Do I get small puppies and large puppies? Do I get all sizes, some in between?
I was hoping you would have some experience on this. I will be deciding in the next 6 months whether to keep him as my only stud. I am still breeding 3 females, with one stud…living in my home with me.
I would love to chat with you about this. Roni Hale, Colorado 970-778-1681
